[11C]Phosgene is an undervalued labelling synthon for the production of PET-tracers that can be used to insert a [11C]carbonyl functional group between two heteroatoms. Most commonly [11C]phosgene is employed for the synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical [11C]ureas, [11C]carbamates and [11C]carbonates.
We aim to develop a reliable and robust approach to synthesize [11C]phosgene with a high molar activity (Am) (Figure 1.) and to use it to produce radiopharmaceuticals with improved radiochemical yields (RCY) and short synthesis times.
